LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The Kentucky baseball team has lost its 4th straight SEC series after losing two of three games to Vanderbilt this weekend.
The Commodores threw a combined no-hitter on Friday and the Wildcats bounced back to win Saturday’s game, but could not win Sunday’s rubber match, falling 5-3 at Kentucky Proud Park.
Vandy crushed the first pitch of the game out of the park for a home run and continued through the first few innings to take a 5-0 lead in the 4th inning. The Cats responded with a solo home run from Jacob Plastiak in that inning and two more runs in the 7th, but the rally stopped there.
Kentucky falls to 22-18 on the season, 6-12 in the SEC which is last place in the conference. UK gets ready to host Dayton on Tuesday before traveling to Florida next weekend.
