LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – John Wall. Nerlens Noel. Devin Booker. TyTy Washington Jr.

This is the short list of players to ever win SEC Freshman of the Week in four straight weeks, and they are all Kentucky Wildcats. Washington Jr. joined elite company on Monday afternoon when the conference awarded him the honor.

The talented Phoenix, Arizona native has averaged 16.2 points per game, 6.7 assists per game and 58 percent shooting from the field and 46 percent from distance on 33 minutes per game over the last seven contests, during this streak of four straight weekly awards.

Washington Jr. set a new career high in Saturday’s game against Tennessee with 28 points, lighting up the Rupp Arena crowd with 10-of-13 shooting and adding five assists. He also scored 15 points in the midweek game against Vanderbilt.

The Wildcats guard won the award last Monday (Jan. 10) despite missing most of the game against LSU on Jan. 4. He followed that up with a 17 point, 17 assist showing on Jan. 8 and set a new Kentucky record for most assists in a game, making him a lock for the award.

Kentucky gets back in action on Wednesday, traveling to Texas A&M for a 8:30 p.m. tipoff in College Station.
