LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Make room on the trophy shelf for Ryan Ritter. Kentucky’s junior is the best defensive shortstop in baseball after being named the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner for his position.

Ritter was an SEC All-Defensive Team selection, and is the sixth player in program history to win the Gold Glove award. He is the first winner since Evan white won back-to-back in 2016 & ’17. His career fielding percentage is .972 in 431 chances.
