BROOKLYN, N.Y. (FOX 56) – It took nearly the entire first round, but TyTy Washington has an NBA home. The former Kentucky guard was selected 29th overall by the Houston Rockets, conditional on an approved trade with the Memphis Grizzlies.

An All-SEC Freshman during his one year in Lexington, Washington Jr. averaged 12.5 points and four assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the field. The highly touted freshman won multiple SEC Freshman of the Week honors and had a 25-point outburst in Kentucky’s SEC Tournament opening win against Vanderbilt in March.

Washington Jr. was the second UK player to be drafted on Thursday night, joining Shaedon Sharpe, who went seventh overall to the Portland Trailblazers.
