LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) – Good morning everyone, it is the first week of 2021 and we are off to a chilly start!
Good morning! We are starting off the first week of 2021 on the chilly side with temperatures in the 30′s. As the sun rises and clouds move away and we will warm up to average into the 40′s by the end of the day. Sunshine will help our temperatures and clouds will build in later this afternoon into the evening. Tuesday a clipper systems rolls by and along with a weak cold front, we can see a chance chance of a wintery mix. Models have been continuing to go back and fourth on this one so this is something we will keep our eye on as temperatures will hover right around freezing. Finally topping us out mid week on Wednesday, we start to see average temps and clear skies, but just in time for our next big thing.
This will come into play on Thursday and give us a chance for rain to start off in the day and then changing into snow lingering into Friday. The rest of the weekend temperatures will drop with highs into the 30′s, but wintery cold air remaining as clearer conditions make there way back into the forecast.
Have a great week!
