LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — It’s the calm before the storm.

Expect more clouds tonight with lows in the mid to upper 20s.

Gray skies are expected on Saturday with highs in the mid-30s and winds 10 to 15 mph from the northeast.

Saturday night, look for partly to mostly cloudy skies with increasing wind, as this southern storm finally takes shape.

The winter storm will likely begin late morning to early afternoon on Sunday across the Commonwealth with snow mixing in with freezing rain, sleet and even some rain.  Highs on Sunday should reach the mid-30s.

This winter storm will likely have a negative impact on travel, making it much harder to do with snow and ice-covered roads.

This impact will be felt not only here, but across much of the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states going into Sunday & Monday, which is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

With enough ice or freezing rain, for example, loss of power can also be anticipated in some areas here and particularly south and east.
