LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – If you were hoping for a repeat performance of last weekend where temperatures climbed into the 80s with sunshine, you may be disappointed this weekend. That’s because a series of fronts will cross through the Commonwealth this weekend, giving us highs in the 70s, but also some showers and storms on occasion.

Spotty rain will be possible today, but not likely.

There is a better chance for showers and rumbles of thunder later tonight and again at times this weekend.

The heaviest of rain this weekend may fall between Campbellsville to Lexington to Flemingsburg, with lesser amounts anticipated in far Southern and Southeastern Kentucky.

Drier weather should take hold later Sunday afternoon and throughout the day on Monday.
