LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Enjoy the pleasant morning because temperatures are going to get much warmer this afternoon. Expect highs in the mid to upper 80s, but the humidity remains low for this time of year.

Southerly winds return on Thursday pumping in more moisture, also known as higher humidity. The increased moisture could lead to a few pop-up storms across southern and southeastern Kentucky Thursday afternoon.

A little better chance for scattered storms comes into play on Friday as moisture continues to increase.

A cold front drops south on Saturday bringing our best chance for showers and storms. However, it still looks like some locations will remain dry, unfortunately.

The cold front will still be in the region on Independence Day, keeping the chance for scattered afternoon showers and storms in the forecast. Stay tuned as we fine-tune the forecast.
