LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — It’s definitely going to feel like the 4th of July with hot temperatures and higher humidity. Expect highs to warm into the low to mid 90s this afternoon and the humidity will make it feel like it’s in the upper 90s. I can’t rule out a pop-up shower, but most of the area stays dry.

The big story through the remainder of the week will be the heat and humidity. High temperatures will be in the mid to potentially upper 90s and heat indices 105 or higher.

We’ll be on the eastern fringe of high pressure which will bring the potential for storms to drop south into Kentucky.

We have to keep a close eye on these storms because they could pack a punch with damaging winds.
