LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A cold front pushes across Kentucky today bringing the chance for spotty showers and storms. The best chance for those will be across southern and southeastern Kentucky.

That’s where the front will be located during the peak heating of the day. Some of those storms could be strong or severe. The latest Severe Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center shows a level 2 risk for severe storms in southeastern Kentucky.

Damaging wind gusts would be the primary concern. The storms end later this evening with drier weather overnight.

Lower humidity works in for Wednesday, but it continues to get lower by Thursday and Friday.

Rain chances return for the second half of the weekend into the start of next week.
