LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – It’s going to be a dreary Friday with clouds and showers that could mix with some snow this morning while temperatures are colder.

This afternoon showers become more numerous and don’t be surprised if you hear rumbles of thunder and see some graupel (soft hail/snow pellets). Temperatures remain chilly with highs only in the 40s.

As temperatures drop into the 30s tonight we bring in a chance for some snow showers or a rain/snow mix.

The coverage of the precipitation will decrease some overnight into Saturday morning. Clouds stick around through the day with additional scattered snow or rain showers developing.

I can’t rule out some minor snow accumulation on elevated surfaces such as grass or decks. That won’t happen everywhere.

The pick of the weekend will be Sunday when we see sunshine return and temperatures warm into the 60s.
