LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — An active weather day ahead as showers and storms develop this afternoon and evening. A line of storms likely forms to our northwest and it will work southeast across Kentucky between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The Storm Prediction Center has all of the FOX 56 viewing area in a Level 2 risk for severe storms.
Like the storms earlier this week, damaging wind gusts are the main threat, but isolated flash flooding is possible. Make sure you are weather aware today and stay with the FOX 56 Weather Authority.
Showers and storms remain likely overnight into the first half of Saturday as a wave of low pressure drags a cold front across the state.
Drier air works in Saturday afternoon and evening bringing an end to the rain from north to south. You’ll notice the lower humidity Saturday night into Sunday. Temperatures will warm into the 80s on Sunday.
