Pack an umbrella today! Expect rounds of showers and storms as an area of low pressure and cold front move across Kentucky. Some of the storms could be strong or severe. Here’s the latest outlook from the Storm Prediction Center.

The greatest risk for severe storms is along and east of I-75. The primary severe threats are damaging wind gusts and hail with heavy rain likely.

Wrap-around moisture behind the low pressure will keep clouds, scattered showers, and occasional drizzle in the forecast for Derby Day (Saturday). The best chance for precipitation will be during the first half of the day and trending drier as the afternoon wears on.

Much better weather is expected for Mother’s Day with highs back in the 60s and sunshine returning.
